Jeb Dunnuck Review
Rated 94
The 2017 Pinot Noir Chenoweth Ranch comes from a site in the Russian River yet has a more Sonoma Coast-like vibrancy and purity, with lots of mulled red and black fruits, pine and foresty nuances, and just a hint of classic Russian River cola and spice. Medium-bodied, nicely textured and elegant on the palate, it has good acidity, fine tannins, and is going to evolve nicely for a decade. Drink 2020-2030.
Wine Tasting Notes
Chenoweth Ranch is planted to a mix of Dijon clones that deliver one of the juiciest, richest wines in our single vineyard lineup. Generous aromas of cinnamon, clove, dried cherry, blueberry and toasted almond leap from the glass. Bright red fruit and chocolate notes bring layers of complexity. The Patz & Hall Chenoweth Ranch Russian River Pinot Noir shows a suppleness and depth to the tannins that make for an exceptionally full, rich, wine while maintaining an elegant, sleek purity and graceful finish. Though cellar aging will give additional complexity, Chenoweth Ranch is one of the wines that shows its potential earliest.
