To make this one of a kind spirit, our Master Blender, Dave Carpenter, took our 95% Redemption Rye and finished it in Jamaican and Barbadian rum barrels from our friends at Plantation Rum. An intriguing romance between the spice of rye and the complex sweetness of rum, its aging required meticulous monitoring to achieve the perfect balance of those flavors. The resulting spirit was named Best American Rye Whiskey at the 2021 World Whiskies Competition.
- Nose - Dried stone fruit (apricot, persimmon), clover honey, baking spice (clove, caraway).
- Palate - The Barbadian casks give a warming richness up front, while the Jamaican casks impart an earthy, fruity finish on the back end. The different lengths of finish help balance the sweetness of the younger barrels with the soft tannin and baking spice of the longer finish.
- Finish - Light and breathy with golden raisins dusted in a whisper of ceylon cinnamon.
