Decanter Magazine Review
Rated 95
Tre Vigne is traditionally a blend of three vineyards: Lurghe (with more clay, essential for the colour); Permolone (with a lot of rock giving complexity); and Alice (the highest, at 410 metres to lend freshness and elegance). The wine is rich in earthy notes of tar, smoky woodland and liquorice, with savoury rhubarb and strawberry whiffs; very elegant and complex. The attack is dense and velvety with good fruit concentration and sucrosity combined with polite acidity and great refinement of the tannins on the finish - elegant, despite the dry vintage. Drinking Window: 2023-2040.
Wine Tasting Notes
Travaglini Tre Vigne Gattinara DOCG shows garnet red in color with ruby highlights. On the nose, aromas of ripe berries and bitter cherries. The palate demonstrates complex flavors of ripe black cherry, smoke, spice and mushroom, with some earthy tones. A concentrated, feminine wine with a soft finish. A perfect match for steak, lamb, roasted vegetables and aged cheeses
100% Nebbiolo
Alcohol 13.5%
